Sleeping Beauty

She is a beauty and Mommy is loving life now that we have settled into something of a schedule. Penny seems to sleep 8/9 to about 2/3 then go back down til about 7...one feeding and Mommy gets close to 6 hours of sleep with just one little interuption.
At our Mommy and Me class today Penny weighed in at a sturdy 13lb .05ozs. She's all rolly and cute. She has her two month check up in a few weeks...we'll see how she's doing then!

A Quilt for Penny

Penny got a quilt from a very nice lady at Nana's church. Miss Idonia also made a quilt for MIkhail when he was born. It is a beautiful keepsake that we are very thankful for.

Princess Penelope

Many people have asked how Penelope got her name. When I was little, one of my favorite books was "Princess Penelope and her 365 Dresses". It told the story of a princess who got a new dress every day. I myself had quit a few dresses, so my mom took to calling me Princess Penelope. Our Penelope doesn't have 365 dresses yet, but she's on her way. Here are a few of my current favorties.

Sleeping Beauty

and thank goodness she was sleeping. We have been having some issues with Penny sleeping in her bed. She preferred to sleep on Mommy or in her swing. Leading Mommy to very little sleep each night. However, we have invested in a sleep pillow for her and things went very well last night.... and Mommy couldn't resist letting the little angel sleep with her a little this morning

The Overacheiver

Today we went to the Mommy and Me class. It was good for Mommy to get out and meet with other Mom and have a chance to learn some new things about taking care of Penny. We learned that the average baby gains between 4 and 8ozs each week...

It was very surprising to see the scale read 11lbs when Penny was placed on it. That means she's gaining an average of one pound per week. An overachiever right from the start...you could be looking at the first female president!
